Visitor numbers risen noticeably despite challenging times in Russia

Moscow, January 2016: Western technologies for the packaging industry and for the manufacture of plastic and rubber products continue to be very popular with Russian companies. The two trade fairs UPAKOVKA/UPAK ITALIA and interplastica, despite difficult political conditions, a drop in oil price and the continued weak rouble, recorded new successes.

From 26 to 29 January, 20,900 experts from Russia and neighbouring countries flocked to the exhibition centre in Moscow - around 1,900 more than in 2015. Overall, the 828 companies from 38 countries presented their offers at the two trade fairs.

Digitalised processing and personal cooperation based on trust

"When it comes to trade fair media marketing in particular, we were able to score points in Russia", says delighted managing director Jens Wohlgemuth.

The services of w+t included collecting media entry data via a bilingual online shop, the international sale of media products by phone and email, the composition and layout of the catalogue in Russian and English, data processing for the online exhibitor list and providing the project teams in Germany and Russia with invoice data. The two trade fairs each had their own catalogue and a joint visitor guide.

High level of marketing expertise for difficult markets

Messegesellschaft Düsseldorf and its subsidiary Messe Düsseldorf Moskau OOO organise the interplastica and UPAKOVKA/UPAK ITALIA trade fairs, the latter in cooperation with the Italian organiser CPA. On its behalf, w+t was in charge of UPAKOVKA for the third time and of the interplastica for the second time.
